Matteo Ravasi (Equinor)

Matteo is a geophysicist with strong background in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Computer Science. He enjoys tackling the entire life-cycle of complex scientific problems from finding new theoretical formulations, implementing numerical solutions to creating user-friendly software libraries and front-end interfaces.

Matteo’s expertise includes seismic imaging, quantitative interpretation, 4D seismic, multicomponent acquisition and processing, model- and data-driven inverse problems, statistical signal processing, wave propagation, seismic interferometry, numerical modelling, and uncertainty analysis.

Matteo is the main developer and maintainer of the Python library PyLops for large-scale optimization inverse problems using linear operators.
