Femke Vossepoel is an Associate Professor in Petroleum Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. After a PhD in Aerospace Engineering (Delft University of Technology, 1999), she specialized in data assimilation in oceanography in academic positions at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and Utrecht University.
Applying data-assimilation techniques for history matching and geophysical inversion, she continued her research in 2007 at R&D of Shell International Exploration and Production in The Netherlands. After various positions within the same company, she returned to the Delft University of Technology in 2016.
In her current role, she leads national and international collaborations to better estimate induced seismicity and subsidence with assimilation into geomechanical models.
