Anca is a probabilistic modeller based at the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis (CEBRA) at the University of Melbourne. Her background is in mathematics and risk and environmental modelling.
She has a PhD in Applied Probability from the Technical University of Delft (TU Delft). As a probabilistic modeller she is interested in uncertainty quantification using data (when available) or structured expert judgement (SEJ, when data are sparse or missing). Anca was instrumental in building a COST European network for Structured Expert Judgment (SEJ) elicitation and aggregation, and related standards for the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Together with colleagues from the University of Melbourne, she has developed, tested and co-authored guidelines for the IDEA protocol for SEJ. She has taken part and facilitated numerous expert elicitations in various projects undertaken by WHO, EFSA, the European Framework 7 Programme, DARPA, Cawthron Institute, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and many universities around the world.
